Selwyn Cohen qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 while employed by Arthur Young (the predecessor firm to EY). He migrated to Australia in 1989. After becoming a partner in a second-tier firm, he established practice for his own account in 1994.

Selwyn has a passion for client service and care and while outstanding technical knowledge is critical to even be in the race, his belief is that customer service must be remarkable and faultless.

These ideas have helped build the practice into what it is today. Selwyn advises SME’s in taxation, growth strategy, acquisitions, estate  and business planning. Selwyn is also registered with the Australian Securities and Investments commission  as a company auditor.

Josephine commenced her career as an auditor with Deloitte. With taxation law being her strength, she later joined the Australian Taxation Office. In 2004, after working for Selwyn Cohen for 10 years, she became a partner and they formed the practice known today as UHY Cohen Fasciani. 

In addition to providing accounting and taxation advice, Josephine is involved in: 

- Business succession planning with family owned businesses

- Setting up new businesses

- Taxation planning and structuring

- Sitting on the board of high wealth family offices
